Mobile Money and Payment Proof at Checkout

What to verify before submitting mobile money references, proof images, and checkout contact details.

Mobile money checkout is convenient, but it works best when the payment details are clean and complete. Before submitting an order, check the amount, phone number, payment method, and any instructions shown on the checkout page. The amount you pay should match the final total after product prices, delivery, tax, discounts, wallet use, or cashback redemption. Do not rely on the product page price alone; the checkout total is the number that matters.

If the checkout asks for a transaction ID, enter it exactly as shown in your payment confirmation. Avoid extra spaces, missing characters, or shortened references. Transaction IDs help support teams match your order to a payment. If your mobile money app sends an SMS or receipt, keep it until the order is delivered and the payment status is confirmed.

Some checkout flows ask for a payment proof image. A useful proof image is clear, uncropped, and readable. It should show the transaction reference, amount, date or time, and the account or phone information needed for verification. Avoid uploading blurry screenshots, heavily edited images, or photos where the key details are hidden. If you need to hide unrelated personal information, keep the payment details visible.

Order status may remain pending while payment is reviewed. This does not always mean something is wrong. Manual checks can be needed when payments arrive from different providers, when transaction references are incomplete, or when proof images are unclear. If the order stays pending longer than expected, contact support with the order number, email used at checkout, payment method, transaction ID, and payment time.

Contact details also affect payment review. Use an email address you can access and a phone number that can receive calls or messages. If support cannot reach you about a payment issue, fulfillment may slow down. When shopping as a guest, be extra careful with your email address because it is used for tracking lookup and support matching.

After checkout, save the confirmation page or email. It gives you a record of the order number, total, and next steps. If you later upload proof from an order detail or tracking page, use the same payment reference and avoid submitting multiple conflicting proofs. Clear payment records protect both the customer and the store, and they make delivery progress easier to follow.

It is also wise to compare the payment timestamp with the order timestamp. If support asks when the payment was made, a precise time can make reconciliation faster. When several people share one payment phone, write a short note for yourself with the order number and amount so the transaction is not confused with another purchase. Avoid sending payment proof through unrelated channels unless support asks for it there. Keeping proof attached to the order, or at least linked to the same email address, gives the store one clean trail to review.
